Well Hung Banana Bread
Auntie Gertie rides again! She sent us this recipe, citing the need to share some of her “many wonderful, loving experiences”. I’m not quite sure how that ties in to cooking, but it is Auntie Gertie, after all.
- Ingredients: 1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
2 cups all- purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda (not powder!)
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
2 eggs
3 large bananas
- Cooking Instructions: Mix butter and sugar until creamy. This is called "creaming" Wow, the jokes I could go with here! Add smushed up bananas. Mix flour and soda, adding to bananas in small increments. Make sure you mix well after each addition. Add nuts. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat. (Beat it, Beat it, no one wants to be defeated!) Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes in a well greased loaf pan. Go ahead and lube it up. Work it, baby!
