Uncle Jeff’s Mess
Uncle Jeff asked me to include this. I didn’t want to, but he then insisted. So, as a concession to the family, I told him I would. Everyone smiled and clapped when he finished reciting this- everyone except me.
I ‘m kind of embarrassed to even include this in our serious cooking journal, but I really don’t want Uncle Jeff to fill my car with shaving cream again.
It’s with a heavy heart, and a frightened soul that I present to you, “Uncle Jeff’s Mess.”
- Ingredients: Ice cream. Mashed potatoes. 1 stick of butter. The juice from a jar of Maraschino cherries. 4 Jalapenos. 1 whole rutabaga, sliced.
- Cooking Instructions: Place sliced rutabaga on a plate, covering the entire surface. Scoop mashed potatoes on top, making it look like a snow covered mountain. Stick whole jalapenos, in equal increments, standing up into the potatoes (Author's note: What the Hell?) Lick entire stick of butter, from top to bottom, and place in the exact middle of the potatoes, standing up like a building. Pour softened ice cream over that, and cherry juice over that. Bake at 400 degrees for six minutes. Serve with pomegranate juice and whiskey. (Sigh.)
- Disclaimer:: Yeah, Thanks Uncle Jeff. You're great.
