The Damn thing’s got Wings!
Hot Wings. ‘Nuff said!
MFO: 8 Who cares? You’re gonna have wings!
- Ingredients: 1 bag frozen wings, 2-3 lbs. 2 eggs, broken, beaten and begging for mercy, in a bowl. 2 cups all purpose flour, placed in a bowl. (yes, a second bowl is needed here- quit being so frickin' lazy!) 5 qt. stock pot- you'll thank me for this later. Enough cooking oil to fill pot 1/3 of the way up. Obviously, this measurement will vary a bit. Cayenne pepper and Tabasco hot sauce. a soup bowl.
- Cooking Instructions: Pour oil into your 5 qt. stock pot, and put it on the cook top. Get it going nice and hot. Mix a good amount of the cayenne pepper into the flour. Pour a good amount (3-4 tbs.) of the Tabasco into the eggs. Place your bowls near the pot in this order from closest to the pot, to farthest away: flour, then eggs, and finally, the wings. Start by dunking each wing in the egg/ hot sauce mixture- just a quick dunk. Then place the wing in the flour/ cayenne mixture. Coat well. Place the wing in a slotted spoon, and GENTLY place into the now boiling oil. Repeat until all wings are cooked thoroughly. Look for the wings to start floating, with a rich, golden brown color. That's a pretty good indicator that the wings are cooked.
- Options:: I like having the hotness of the wings inside the wing, rather than on them. If you want a "wet sauce", try adding some cayenne and crushed pepper flakes to your favorite barbecue sauce.
- Helpful Hints:: Use a slotted spoon to both place and remove wings from the hot oil. Oh, and by the way, try not to lean your face over the boiling oil, as it could splash up and burn your face/eyes, etc. Use good common sense when cooking with hot oil.
