Freebird French Toast
I love French Toast, but I really don’t want to give those rascally Frenchmen any credit for something good. I mean, they’ve given us cheese and wine, the Statue of Liberty, and perhaps their greatest achievement, Sophie Marceau, but that’s it. Seriously.
Mess Factor of : 5
The only way to not make a mess doing this recipe is to hire someone else to do it for you. Maybe Sophie Marceau could come over and help. Sophie, Please come over! We don’t have to cook, if you don’t want to. We could make love, and order Chinese take out, and then snuggle by the fireplace. Call me!
- Ingredients:
What you’ll need:
1) 3 or 4 eggs, beaten into submission, in a wide bowl
2) 4 slices of Texas Toast, or any large sliced bread.
3) Butter- enough to coat your frying pan, and slather onto the finished toast.
4) Vanilla extract- 1 tsp.
5) Cinnamon- 2 tsp., finely ground
6) Brown Sugar- 1 tbs.
7) Powdered Sugar- sprinkle on top of the finished Toast.
8) Spatula
- Cooking Instructions:
Getting Started:
Get your frying pan nice and hot. Coat with butter. While this heats up, mix the eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and brown sugar together. You’ll see specks in the mixture, that’s okay. Dunk your Texas Toast into the mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side, then place into the pan. Let cook for a few minutes, or until you see the egg firm up on the one side, then flip the slice over in the pan, and let the other side cook. Repeat with all the rest of the bread.
Remove slice from the pan, cut on a diagonal, slather with butter and powdered sugar, and eat up. You’ll love the flavor, and the heartiness of this French toast. And if Sophie Marceau calls you, you’ll owe me, big time.
